So want to quit smoking..

I've noticed lately how much I am really disliking the taste of my cigarettes.
I have gone from 3 different kinds in a matter of months because I keep thinking I'm not smoking the kind that I like.
When I went back to it last year, I started with the brand I was smoking first off when I was 13, but now, it all tastes disgusting.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Could this be my bodys way of telling me to quit.
I dont feel ready to do so and I still get the nicotine hit from it, I just can't stand the taste in my mouth.

Hmm, I dont know what it might be.
I never had that problem, I just knew which ones I liked, and which ones I didnt, never where I didnt like the kind I had all the time.
Sounds kinda odd to me, maybe it is a sign.?

It very well could be a possibility that your body is telling you to quit. Most people don't understand the workings of the human body and your body has a way of subtle hues. It is very detrimental to your health and you should consider quitting. We all know what kind of effects tobacco and nicotine can have on the body, so I won't lecture! -lol-

Yeah I think that's what it is too.
I have been smoking heavily since I was 14 (with the exception of quitting every now and then) and the taste never used to bother me, but now I cannot stand it.
I think it's time to give up...need to get the plan into action though.

If you find it disgusting and you don't enjoy it then you're off to a good start in quitting so just do it! I wish I could say the same but it's one of the worst habits to be addicted to and I really need to quit one of these days and make all the excuses. If it tasted horrible and found it disgusting it would make it all the much easier for me... but this old gal has a hard time getting mentally prepared.

I don't need the patch. I quit cold turkey once with no help whatsoever for 8 months.

When I quit, I don't really see any changes in my health, financial status or anything else.

I'm asthmatic (shut up, I know what you're gonna say lol), so whether I smoke or don't smoke, I still find it hard to breathe.
I've heard people say "I really noticed the difference in my money situation after I quit, I had so much more than when I was smoking", but I really don't notice the difference at all.

It's more of a emotional/mental attachment. When I quit smoking I feel like I've lost my best friend. The same with alcohol. I recently quit smoking for about 3 months and when I went back to it it was like a sigh of relief.
Damnit. It's so disgusting.

Girl, I definitely feel you on this one. I've been smoking for so long. It helps the urges and struggles of self injury, and even the common stressors that don't trigger; but everytime I try to quit I get scared because I know there isn't anything there to fall back on. I know it causes cancer, emphisema and COPD, I know it isn't good for anybody around me and I've seen the chronic effects on both my father and my grandmother. Even though I don't want to end up like either one, I think I'll die sooner with out cigarettes than I will if I continue smoking.

Anyway, I know it's a difficult process either way and we're here to help ya through it!

Yeah that's the same with me! And drinking and smoking go so well hand in hand so if I give up one, I have to give up the other. I tried smoking and not drinking and this just lead me back to another relapse. It's terrible. I feel if I don't have my "vices" then I have nothing. I'm grateful I haven't taken up cutting again though...

Thanks annihilate_me :]

Any which way we have it, something or another is going to be the death of us. I know that seems like a horrible out look on life, but in the end it's true.

Oh your welcome. If ya need anybody to talk to, my PM box is always open.

That's so true!
I even get some days where I'm just like why would it matter if I don't quit smoking, I'm gonna die someday anyway. P.S. I'm not suicidal or anything lol.

Thanks heaps :] It's nice to make new friends.
Same goes for you as well!

Ive been thinking of quitting smoking too but its hard to imagine...but then again, its a crutch and I want to remove all my crutches. I only just got my six month token and I think im going to wait until I'm at least a year before trying.

I decided to quit again last night.
I threw my pack into a fire and it felt good.
So we'll see how this goes.
Good luck to everyone else too :]
