McCain? Obama? You Decide!
Reproductive Rights • McCain wants to overturn Roe v. Wade*. He has voted against (1) funding teen-pregnancy-prevention programs; (2) requiring insurance coverage for prescription birth control; and (3) improving access to emergency contraception. • Obama is an original co-sponsor of legislation to increase funding for family planning and sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. He plans to uphold Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose. Education • McCain believes that federal education funding should be used to give parents the opportunity to move their children out of failing schools. He has fought hard for lower interest rates on college loans. He suggests that students join the armed forces or Peace Corps to cope with rising education costs. • Obama’s plan for education focuses on funding after-school initiatives and programs to reduce dropout rates. He supports outreach programs like GEAR UP and Upward Bound which encourage teens from low-income families to prepare for college. If elected, he will try to make college more affordable by creating a credit program to cover up to 2/3 of tuition costs at public colleges and universities. Pay Equity • McCain opposes the Fair Pay Restoration Act, which would ensure women equal pay for equal work, because he thinks it will cause too many lawsuits. He says that instead of a law giving women the right to equal pay, they need more education and training. • Obama is a co-sponsor of the Fair Pay Restoration Act. He wants the government to enforce the Equal Pay Act, fight job discrimination, and improve child care options and family medical leave. Get Involved! I don't like politics....
There's always someone who takes the opinion you make personally. Ugh it sucks!!! I can't wait for this whole thing to be over. >=[ I have to write a report about who I'm supporting in the election and I am finding it so dang difficult cause I don't want to take a side. =[ POLITICS SUCK. That's all I'm voicing. =] |

I hate politics with a passion as well. And I feel like that no matter what president we elect this year, they're both gonna die o.o I know that is an awful thing to say and I would never wish anyone death, but McCain is what, 72? And doesn't he have skin cancer? What if something were to befall him and send him into a coma or he gets pnemonia? What then? Like most senior citizens, their immune system isn't so great anymore.
And Obama has racial differences with much of America and there is no denying it, however small and insignificant an amount there is, people are still racial and prejudice against African-Americans. I feel like he's gonna be assasinated or something. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way about it, maybe the only one on this site though. Personally, I would probably vote for Obama. Like jules, I'm not much for arguing. Especially when I don't follow politics that closely.

Not much for politics either but this is a good summary and something I'd been wanting to see as I don't know where they stand on certain issues. I'm pretty split on both myself but think if Obama gets it we'll be taxed to death in developing the programs he wants, but McCain is old school to and don't know if we will see any good changes. I just don't know.

Voting today!
Good luck America, I hope you all decide on the candidate who will do the best job in your opinion, for yourselves, for America and for the rest of the world! We are counting on you to make the right choice, because it effects us too. I don't really believe in telling people who to vote for, and I'm not living in America, I don't know what it's like to be an American, but I urge everyone, VOTE! Everyone in America, VOTE! Please! We need you to.

I don't like "Politics" either, but if you live in the States and you don't vote, that's as close to a sin in my book. If you don't vote, don't ***** about the next four years and how it is going to affect everyone we all know.
With us being in War, people dying over there, basically in a recession, ETC. this is such an important time to vote. Woman fought so hard for us to be able to vote, it's a shame so many take it for granted. It really is. I am proud to live in this country and I will Always make it a Priority to vote. Off my soapbox now, One of my only and worst pet peeves is people who don't vote in this country.

It's a shame, women were assaulted and thrown in jail, starved in jail, put in insane asylums fighting for the right for us to vote. People here taken the priveledge of voting for granted. I saw people in wheel chairs and canes voting today, I thought that was great!

I agree with you Miss D. It's such an important right we've been granted and so many take it for granted and ***** about it the results... and we wonder why this country is going to hell in a hand basket some days.

Yeah I don't think people have the right to complain when they do nothing to help elect the President of their country.
