getting a cyst removed
i knew i should of told you guys this a few days ago when i got the news.. i went to the doctor's to have a bump on my head looked at. It's been there since october of last year. My mom, sis, and I have nurofibromatosis (i got it when i was born from my mom and no one can catch it) the dr looked at it and bought some women in to look at it and even she said it dosent look like a bump from NF. Even my mom was saying that but she just wanted to be sure. They looked at it and said it can be removed but there are some riskes. Such as having a scar, a dent, infection, it can bleed alot. He said the forehead bleeds the most or something. A friend of mine knows someone that works in hospitals and she told me that her relative said that a cyst can turn into cancer if its not cared for. She asked me if i was getting removed and i told her yeah. She told me good and that she didnt want anything bad to happen to me. I told her the riskes and she was a little worried also.. The dr set up an appointment. I go in on the 8th of March to have it removed. I will keep you guys updated on whats going to happen

Thats pretty freaky stuff. I've had two removed too, and one that they dont want to touch. One was on the back of my head, it did bleed pretty bad, but getting it out was better than having a bump there. Now its just sensetive if something hits that spot or anything, it wasnt too bad. I hope everything goes well for you!

Is it on your forehead, or where is it? If you dont mind me asking, of course.
Theres different kinds of cysts. When they did the one on my head they just numbed me, I was awake for the whole thing. But the one on my foot was different and much deeper so I had to get knocked out for that one. However it is for you, I hope everything goes smoothly. Its usually a simple procedure and lets hope you heal in no time flat. (:

Just want to wish you luck and a speedy recovery! I had my nose reconstructed after an accident many years ago. Anything in the "head" area does bleed a lot so don't let that frighten you. Think positive and do everything the doctor says!
Keep us posted okay? Hope

Good luck Jon, it's going to be okay. You will need to keep from stressing that area for awhile so no exercising and stuff for a week or so!

i guess i did have a reason to be nervouse. they numbed me up and mad the cut and told me if i feel any pain to let them know and they can give me more. everything was going ok and they said they got to it but are having trouble. they came to point where they couldn' tell if it was a nerve or a NF (look up in the first post to know what NF means). they said they didnt want to chance cutting it out and have it mess up a nerve whcih ws rasing my right eyebrow i think. they got what they could get done and made a call to another dr who dose the same work. the dr. called him telling what was going on nd the problem. he sid he can look at it and see what he can do.
(please excuse me for any miss spelled words. still a little numb0 i went in the first time around 9:45 and the second which was just down the road around 11:00. he came in nd looked at it and said what will be done. so i was numbed up again and wasn't that long. they said it was out and i was releaved.. i got stiches from it and didn't feel them putting them in. i was able to walk a little after it was done but i was even more glade to be able to lay in my bed.. they said they wanted to see me in a week to have the stiches taken out and for a check up.. but NO pain killers which sucked.. i will try and post pics if possible.. nothing bloddy or gross so dont worry. just some before and after pics. and thank you to everyone who wished me luck
