Friend
I am pretty into this friend of mine. I've known him for ages and just recently we've been seeing each other quite a bit. He knew me before the drugs and after, but not during.
We were sharing some pretty deep stories and I felt like I needed to share my experience with my addiction. I wasn't pressured - and like I said I'm really into this guy, I don't want there to be secrets. I thought he would listen and be shocked at first but eventually understand. The opposite has kinda happened. Because he is from a country town I think the idea of it excites him a little bit. Its so far opff from what any of us grew up with and none of them really know as much about it as I do so I think the idea of meth is now glamourous to him. This is how I first saw it I truely believed that drugs were glamorous and at the time had someone who had been through it had told me otherwise I wouldn't have listened and now I'm worried this may be the case with him. Do you think I rushed into this. Could I have made a mistake? Has anyone else had any experience with telling someone and getting an unexpected reaction??? |

I hope it doesn't make him start, but if it does always remember it is never your fault. Tell him about how you are worried and about how you wouldn't listen to anyone who told you not to. Maybe if he knows the whle story, and all of your concerns he will think twice.
I had a friend who found out about my cutting (I didn't tell him), but started talking how it would be cool to try once. He also talked about how everyone thought it was so bad, and he went on and on about how I would be looked at as lesser by people. I told him that there was nothing cool about it, and it was something that even I didn't like at times. I tryed to explain everything I could about it, knowledge is power. I just told him about all the negative things about it. He never tryed it, he still to theis day does NOT understand a thing about it or why I do it (probablly cause I made it sound so bad!). But I guess what I am trying to say is that people can think the dumbest thing about a situation that seems unfamiliar to them. And, I am still paying for how I explained it to him( by his dumb comments), but it was always worth it to me, becasue I know I kept him from getting hurt. I know you will figure out what to do. Believe me I know it is hard. We want to keep those we love safe, but that desion lies soully in thier hands. Good luck, and please let me know what you do and how it all works out.
