Guide to the big ol'world we call the INTERWEB! i mean internet XD

First of all this isn't gonna be a guide for newbies you need some computer brains ;p ima just list programs you should be using and what they do, and some suggestions. ok? lets start so..
Programs for the web specifically:
Firefox:With Extensions as listed
adblock plus
adblock fliterset.G
All-in-one Gestures
CustomizeGoogle
NoScript(Get this now, come back to this post after)
Tab Mix Plus

Opera:(i personally can't say which extensions to get as im not a user of Opera but it is a good browser better then firefox at times.)

BitTorrent Clients:

Utorrent: BitTorrent client. <-I recommend this one.
Bitcomet:Sluggish BT Client. But usable <-Do not recommend.
Azureus:Recommended for people who want more then just a bitclient(Try it out i liked it even though its bulky and trying to expand)

Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware/Firewalls:

Comodo Firewall: Strong firewall(Highly Recommended.) free btw

Nod32: Strong anti-virus(Highly Recommended.) No
t free..or is it?
Outpost Firewall: Strong firewall, Gets the job done.

AVG Anti-Virus:Pretty decent anti-virus for being free it will keep you safe.(If you can't get Nod32 for free, use this its not as good but its good enough.)

Spy bot search & destroy: Extremely Good.for scanning and if turned on, Real time scanning. (Highly Recommended)

AVG Anti-Spyware: For being free its very good, better then most programs you pay for. -Real time scanning.(Recommended.)

BitDefender: This is a good anti-virus though not free.

ZoneAlarm: This firewall is easy to use and its half decent..though not as good as they say it is.

Extra Software:

RegScrub: Safely cleans junk out of the Windows 2000/XP system registry. All changes made to the registry are fully restorable to it's original condition. it will make your computer fast if you've never used this type of program.(Download this.)


VLC Player:Video player for well..videos lol,if you ever had a movie or video that wouldn't play this will play it.

K-Lite Mega Codec: Codecs so that any videos you download etc will be playable and will not give you any crap about not knowing what kinda file it is.

CCCP(Combined Community Codec Pack): Same as above only a different team etc. Some say this is better some say k-lite is,the debate will last forever so..im on neither side but i use K-Lite. but use CCCP on my real pc..so idk xD

Y!mLite: if you are going to chat using YMSG(Yahoo msger)Download this and use this instead of what they give you at yahoo.com, this will block all those porn bots enable you to be almost unbootable(for those who use yahoo ya know what im talkin about) it has lots of features and has a nice smooth interface. (Highly Recommended for yahoo chatters.)

And if you're going to go suggesting IM client alternatives for yahoo, you might as well mention some cross-platform and multiple protocol one's like Pidgin. Been using that since it was gaim, and I love it


And I had no idea spybot S&D was still kicking, I used to love it.
