Question, Just wondering if you had any idea, why my computer stopped saving pictures, images, anything. Pretty much out of the blue.

I tried clearing, cookies, cache, all of that, but still nothing.

Any ideas?

if you haven't fixed this problem, is it your browser thats not saving them. is this from a device? internet? msger? if its internet try different browser, if that works then just save your profile(assuming you use either opera or firefox) and reinstall it. if that isn't the case then more info please

Npe, nothing saves anything. Used to save pictures t my desktop, but now nothing will save or, I think download.

But I know I can't save any pictures. I forgot something else.

Yea try to reinstall firefox, just save your profile though don't wanna lose all those boomarks.

if that doesn't work may have to touch up some stuff in about:config

But wouldn't I be able to save in Safari? or that other one you had me install one time?
Opera I think?

I have a ton of favorites, and am not sure how to save those.

which browser do you use and ill tell you where the profile is, Also if you did check in another browser Opera & Safari then you need to use regscrub that may fix the problem.

Oh, okay. I'll try and save on another browser and then if not I'll do that thing in a day or so. My head is kin do f spinning righ t now, I can't think enough to do very much, lol

I'm on a mac, or the one that isn't working is my Mac, can you still do wahtever your talking about on a mac?

safari sucks, and its so damn unsafe.

use opera or firefox. and your problems will be solved.

also, Use your Disc Utility (Applications > Utilities) to perform a permissions repair.

I never use safari, always firefox, used opera for a bit after you told me too.
but like firefox

i'll do that other thing, if i can figure out where my utilites are.

love my mac, but it's confusing, and i'm not able to think too well right now, lol

hm, I had a similar problem a while back.

After you first turn on your computer and you're using a program (firefox, for instance) can you exit it and then restart it?

I say this because for reasons too annoying and strange to start explaining, I was forced to run Ubuntu off a damaged external HD for a while. It would be able to read and write for about 10 minutes after I initially started the computer, so I could open programs and just hope they wouldn't crash or I'd have to restart.

Anyway, after that 10 minutes my hd would become unmountable and I couldn't save anything to it.

So you *may* have a damaged hd. But there's just as good a chance it's something else. If you have a new enough os, use something that I think is called "time machine" on macs, its like system restore on windows I think, you just pick an earlier date that you remember your computer working and restore to that point. But I only know about linux and windows. And I hate recommending system restore to people but sometimes it's all you can do without being there yourself.

okok I think I know, Steve Jobs must hate you personally.

Don't know what you must have done, maybe it was not using the standard mac browser that pissed him off.

Sorry, I can't help you. I think time machine may help, but that's a new feature. Is your computer/os new?


I'm usually much more thorough but fixing computers by proxy makes me lose my patience pretty quickly. I'll look this up a little more and see what I can find that may help.
