3 days

it's been 3 days and counting since i came clean with my coke addiction. 3 days i decided to tell my mom about what i had been doing and that i thought i had a problem. these past 72 hours have been bittersweet. i've been an emotional wreck; crying everyday for hours at a time not only because i'm ashamed of what i've done to me and my family but for the great weight lifted off my shoulder. it's been 3 days...i'm new here....so im pretty new to this recovery thing but im definitely looking forward to it. thank you hope4life for directing me here and i hope to meet a lot of new people here as well.

Congratulations on coming clean with your
coke addiction. I'm sure that was a tough
thing to do. You'll be so much happier and stronger
for it in the end. How did your Mom take it? Is she being
supportive? In the begining, the coming off part I think it's
pretty emotional for most people.. Emotions get crazy. My doc was meth,
and I was a total and complete basket case. It
takes a little while, and then you start to feel like yourself again.
What kind of support do you have right now? Are your friends using?
I'm glad you are here, there are some great people here who can help you also.
Keep posting sweetie, the next few weeks might be hard but you can Definately do this!

thanks guys...for kellie....im tired...infact im wiped out, but i think half of it is from school and hw..but i think the other half is because i haven't been sleeping very well...i just lay awake and think about absolutely EVERYTHING and some nights im wide awake not ready to go to sleep yet but other nights im extrememly tired, but i don't want to go to sleep. my sinuses (sp?) have been having like mood swings...one minute i can breathe but then the next im living off of kleenex because there's like a waterfall in my nose. sorry, if that's really gross.

for done with it....my mom didn't get mad....like she flipped out but it was more like disappointment and saddness than anger. my uncle (her brother) is an addict but he's dead to her so she really doesn't think about him a lot...but i can understand how she got so worked up when i told her...me being her daughter and obviously being closer to her. when i told my mom it was at like 11:30 at night after i had finished my hw and she was up working....we cried and tlaked and cried some more until like 12:30 when she called my current psychologist....she gave us the number of a counselor who specializes in addiction/alcoholism in teens and so we called her at like 1 in the morning (she picked up which was kinda weird...i think she said she was writing up like reports and stuff but anyways...) and so we made an appointment the very next day. she extremely nice...and she said that since i wasn't hard core/fully addicted...just very close to edge of addiction that i won't need to go into rehab...but she wants me to do this summer thing for girls this summer.....like rehab camp...i think it's in jersey, which is conveniant (sp?) cuz my aunt lives there and i'd be able to stay with her. my friends don't use.....like every once and a while, when they get an opportunity maybe someone will bring some weed and a bowl to a party...but otherwise, with the exception of me, we're relatively clean people

I think it's very courageous of you to come clean so to speak and are looking for help and answers. You did a great thing and it wasn't easy I'm sure. Yes, you were probably on the verge and have quickly at a very smart age to do something about it. Good for you!

Sounds like you might be having some allergies, it seems like alot of folks (my son included) are having trouble with them (Spring time)...
I find that focusing on my breath...going in...going out, for about 10-15 minutes helps me to slow my racing mind down so I can get to sleep.
