This is the hardest thing I've ever had to go through. My mom called me up at work saying something was wrong with my cat. So I got the okay and was able to leave so we could go all the way to Elko (which is an hour away) to get him to the vet. It was so hard seeing him in so much pain. The vet said he has a blood clot which has him paralyzed from the waist down. I told the vet to do everything they could in the 24 hours but if they can't get clot to dissolve I'm going to have to put him down. There's only a 90% chance that he'll make it and it's very likely to come back. It's so just hard because he's been there with me through everything. From my parents divorce through my extreme depression till now. No one really knows or can understand why it's so hard, no one really knows that I went to him for everything. I can't even sleep when he isn't there next to me with his head on my pillow. I don't know what to do. I don't want him to suffer, but I can't live 'normally' without him.

Juju Bug, I'm so sorry to hear of this!

I would be in the same emotional state as you are if it was my cat, he means the world to me and has been there through everything.

Do what you can to save him, but if he is suffering, my best bet would be to euthanize him.

((Jules)). Huge hugs. Pets are there to give you the unconditional love when you need it most, I always had my dog (till I moved), and I could not imagine life without Fritz. I'm so sorry this is happening

I know exactly what it is like to be so dependent on our loving pets. The hardest thing though we sometimes have to do is be unselfish and let them go when we know they are hurting or in pain. I will pray they are able to do something to help your kitty Jules. But in the event the most difficult thing must be done, remember all the happiness this little guy gave you and all the love he taught you so that is memory can be honored in loving another OK? That seemed to help me a lot when I went through this with my animals I have had to painfully let go of.

No one understood that he was more imporant to me then my own 'father'. If they could picture it in that form- I think it would change their whole perspective of how I felt/ feel inside. Through everything i've been through, I have never in my life felt that dead before. My mom forced me to eat after a few days because I texted her from work saying I was about to pass out and I needed to know what to do. I broke down so many times and even still it hurts so bad. His brother, who has never really been as cuddily or a people person wont leave my moms or my side. Everywhere I go, everything I do, everything I see reminds me of him. He was everywhere with me and thats what makes it that much harder. I cant do anything. I wouldnt even be working if I didnt have to. Which is another thing, I had to go to in that night after everything- even after I asked one of my 'good friends' to cover the shift for me, and she didnt. The saying is true, you learn who your true friends are in a crisis. I dont hate her for it and im not mad at her for it, im just pissed off that after I covered for her when her and her boyfriend had a fight, it was the least she could have done. But whatever, thats the least of my problems. Now, im just an empty shell- and I know its going to take a very long time to heal.

Jules, do you know about Rainbow Bridge? It is a wonderful place to go and share your feelings with others that understand. You can post pictures and talk and talk about what others know firsthand, which is that terrible pain we feel over our amazing friends, we call our pet......Just a thought. I have a friend that has 3 cats left, and she began with 6. She saw them through life, and some she lost early and some were elderly.
She uses Rainbow Bridge to celebrate their lives and to share in their passing.....

It sounds like a good place. I had only heard of it through a poem that the vet sent after the whole thing. Ill have to check it out, thanks for sharing.
