Hello

Over the past week things have been trying. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and was disappointed by the results. I thought I had lost some weight and I found out I did not lose as much as i thought. It was disappointing to me. I have been working very hard on portion control and thought I was doing good, but not seeing the results on the scale has been hard. I know its about having a healthy life style and not about the weight but I want to lose the weight too in the process. Is this just part of the process or I am just too focused on losing the weight? I have just had so many feelings about this and I don't know how to express my feelings

Renee

renee, when the weight comes off slow, that is a good thing. That indicates that you are doing the right things. Instead of "dieting" you are eating healthier. This will help you to maintain long term.

Remember to keep your patience. We can also get to a plateau. That just means we need to increase our exercise a bit, and that can simply mean being more active. Eating 6 small meals a day can keep your metabolism up there too, if I did not already mention that.

Beating yourself up will just cause self-defeat. Keep doing what you are doing and you will get the results you want.

Hope

I think it's all part of the process Renee, the problem is you're so very hard on yourself. Be patient with the process and the rest will follow. You're going through a lot of emotions and some hurt and pain as you discover that which has caused you this issue, so be gentle with yourself and discover that self love.
